All courses will be held through Zoom, requiring a device & internet access.
All programming is led by acclaimed Artist Instructors with professional experience in their fields.
All final products will be hosted online by MFML and featured at our virtual showcase on August 15th, 2021.

Intensive & Core courses feature collaboration within and among programs
as well as with guest artists from MFML’s Festival of Performances & Panels.

Program Description
Explore and develop as writers, producers and collaborators in the digital ecosystem. This course is intended for songwriters and composers who want to go deeper with their writing and production. From inception to final song product, students will develop skills in applied & creative techniques including prose, theory, form and workflow.

Program Description
Conceptualize and design as innovators and builders, collaborating to create the digital equivalent of the musical ecosystem. This course is intended for visual artists and designers who want to explore various digital mediums to enhance their artistic vision. Students will develop skills in creative coding, 3D modeling, and animation. They will apply these skills to creating music videos and building from ground up a digital ‘venue’ for MFML’s virtual showcase on August 15th.

Program Description
Express and enhance narratives through music! Participants will create soundscapes, score soundtracks with visual and aural stories, and orchestrate renditions of songs as members of a multi-instrumental ensemble. Program participation is possible with any instrument, including vocals and percussion, and will feature use of the free music software program Reaper.

Program Description
Create an original podcast through a step-by-step process spanning pre-production to polished product! Work with your team to brainstorm content development and narrative structure, develop speech and voice acting techniques, and learn audio editing and sound design techniques with free audio software program Audacity.
