Meet your Artist Instructor:

Matt Krolick started playing trumpet and piano at the age of 11. In spring of 2009, during his first year at the University of Texas at Austin, he joined Mother Falcon as its first full-time horn player, and was introduced to a group of friends and musical collaborators that helped him develop as a musician and songwriter. In 2013, he graduated from UT with a Bachelors of Architecture, and now works as a product designer and 3D illustrator at an interior design firm in Austin. Since then, Matt has developed his skills as a designer and musician and enjoys looking through the lens of both specialties. Matt has been an art teacher at Mother Falcon Music Lab since it’s beginning. He applies what he learned from the worlds of design and music to encourage his students to embrace their own creativity and talents and work together to create their own band identities, logos, band shirts, and band artwork. Matt loves to play music from all different backgrounds and genres. Still a member of Mother Falcon, Matt currently plays trumpet in a number of other musical projects in the Austin community, including Zoumountchi, the west African influenced house band at Austin’s Sahara Lounge, singer-songwriter, Dwight Smith, and rapper, Pat G.

About MFML Virtual Summer experience:

The Mother Falcon Music Lab is excited to bring our programming online!

With so much to learn and share, we’re ensuring participants are able to stay in the moment and centered on content. Each Artist Instructor is supported by an additional instructor in the zoom room to monitor needs, helping to field questions and assist with technical issues.

For youth, we are offering a virtual Chill Room – a spot where you can play a game, relax from class or talk anything out with Mr. Michael! For times/schedule visit mfml.org/calendar

For adults, we are offering a group forum where you can post up questions and comments, connect with other peers/adults, and share ideas and projects!

The unique content of this course has been developed by experienced artists and instructors in a ground up, collaborative environment. We are passionate about what we do and the experiences we share with our community!
