Diana holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Cello Performance from UT Austin and focuses primarily on writing, performing, touring and collaborating with artists in a variety of genres. Diana is the outreach director and cello teacher for the Mother Falcon Music Lab. She has been a member of Mother Falcon for the past 10 years, and also performs regularly with singer-songwriter Curtis McMurtry. Kenzie Slottow is a flautist, composer, improviser, conductor, and recovering perfectionist. Her work is inspired by a love for story and collective creative experiences. By mixing styles and bringing performers and creators together, Kenzie aims to challenge preconceptions of what’s possible with sounds and our imaginations, and use her creations as conduits for empathy, compassion and inspiration. As a flautist and proponent of contemporary electronic music, Kenzie enjoys collaborating with electroacoustic composers and premiered works at concerts and conferences, and sharing the mindset and skills of sonic experimentation with students of all ages. Current projects include conducting virtual chamber improvisation sessions, live scoring virtual improvised plays, hosting her livestream show Flute Loops And…, and learning to sit still for more than 5 minutes. Kenzie earned her BM at the University of Michigan and MM at the University of Texas, both in classical flute performance. Learn more at www.kenzieslottow.com.

About MFML Virtual Summer experience:

The Mother Falcon Music Lab is excited to bring our programming online!

With so much to learn and share, we’re ensuring participants are able to stay in the moment and centered on content. Each Artist Instructor is supported by an additional instructor in the zoom room to monitor needs, helping to field questions and assist with technical issues. Also, we are offering a virtual Chill Room – a spot where you can play a game, relax from class or talk anything out with Mr. Michael!

The unique content of this course has been developed by experienced artists and instructors in a ground up, collaborative environment. We are passionate about what we do and the experiences we share with our community!
