We are all on a journey to connect to ourselves and to one another. MFML provides creative programming that empowers individuals through self-expression and collaboration. Through the creation of original musical and artistic products, individuals connect with a process that allows them to feel fulfilled in themselves, their community, and the world.

Our Story

Inspired to give back to their local community, Mother Falcon Music Lab (MFML) was founded in 2012 by members of the acclaimed orchestral pop band Mother Falcon. The band Mother Falcon was formed among high school orchestra students writing original, contemporary music on traditionally classical instruments. Akin to a chamber music ensemble in style and delivery yet defined by distinct musical substance, members found freedom in expression and innovation through collaboration. The classical core of the ensemble’s sound developed through the addition of members from a variety of musical backgrounds, becoming as unique as Mother Falcon’s instrumentation.

The quality of Mother Falcon’s musical products are ensured through a collaborative process featuring group input and problem-solving balanced against individual contributions and creative agency. Following success on an international scale, members felt compelled to bring home what they’d learned and share their winning formula. MFML’s very first summer camp program was established with a hand up from local education leaders, offering personal and artistic enrichment through collaborative, intuitive, and experimental approaches to songwriting. This creative process has become the foundation of Mother Falcon Music Lab’s uplifting and community-oriented creative educational programming, which has since expanded to offer an array of courses in music and media informed by our own careers, life experiences, and artistic journeys.
